About Me:
While I was born and raised in upstate NY, I have lived in Arizona for 30 years. I moved from Tempe to Gilbert while finishing my doctorate in Economics at Arizona State, at which point I was able to teach part time at both ASU and Chandler-Gilbert. The opportunity to teach for a few years in both the university and community college environments drove me to seek full-time work at the community college, where teaching (and the student) is at the heart of the college mission.
I've now been teaching full-time at CGCC for over twenty years, and I take a lot of pride in being able to break down the concepts of economic principles into the most basic, intuitive explanations, and presenting them in video format for students (http://youtube.com/mjmfoodie).

On the personal side, my husband (an engineer) and I raised our daughter in Gilbert, which is a wonderful community in which to live - even more so with the food boom in downtown Gilbert! Our daughter is now a CGCC graduate with a degree in Business, and has completed her course work at the Culinary Institute of America for her degree in Pastry Arts.
